After Christmas dinner we have a tradition in our house that we always play a board game. In fact most of the evening after Christmas dinner is spent playing games. We are always keen to play a game that the whole family can get involved in. This can be a little tricky when catering for such a diversity of ages.

What a Performance! by Orchard Toys is one such game that anyone over the age of 2 can play. In fact they could probably play if younger but you might need to adapt the game slightly. That however is the beauty of What a performance! it can be adapted to suit different ages.

The set up for What a Performance! is minimal. Everything is ready straight from the box, all you need to do is put the board itself together and you are ready to go. Inside the box is a spinner, magic spy reader, counters, cards, dice, board and instructions

To get into the Christmas spirit the girls set up the table with a Christmas themed table cloth and we got ready to play. The game has four counters, which means you could play as teams for a large family or individuals.

What a Performance! is very easy to understand and my youngest picked it up with no problems. As you move round the board you have to carry out an activity as described on the card. This can be anything from finding 5 items in the room beginning with a letter, to pretending to be a window cleaner. The game is very interactive.

The game helps my girls to build on their social skills by having to perform in front of family or friends. Some of the tasks like finding things beginning with a certain letter is also great for the girls as they have to think about letter sounds and with the added time pressure this gets them thinking quick. What a Performance! got my girls thinking and using their imagination which is such a lovely part of the game.

You can however choose not to do the activity and in this case you must carry out a forfeit. The forfeits are hidden on the back of the cards and you need to use the special reader to uncover them

My eldest took great pride in reading the back of the cards. It was great to see her practising her reading in such a fun way, and she loved how the special reader helped to make the words appear, as if by magic!

When I pick the girls up from nursery they are often tired, as am I after a long day at work, but they still want to play. I don't mind this so much because I have missed them whilst I am at work but at the same time I am tired and don't often have the energy to set up our trusted and favourite messy play. I am rather glad therefore that I have found Wallies Wall play.

Wallies Wall play are not your ordinary wall stickers. Wall play allows you to do just this, play. It allows children to use their imagination and creativity to create wall art and have lots of fun thinking up stories around the stickers. Each vinyl sticker is easily removed from the backing paper and placed on the wall wherever your child desires. It doesn't stop there because each sticker can then be removed easily from the wall and placed any where you want again and again.

The range of Wall play includes doll houses, transport, dress up dolls, aquariums and a princess land to name a few. We were given the doll house and about town to play with and it has been a huge hit with both girls, but in particular my eldest.

My eldest took an instant shine to the dolls house. She readily goes up to it and asks to put the lady in the bath, or she is taking the dog for a walk. Her imagination runs wild with the stories she creates and talks me through. At 3 years old she has no problem removing the stickers and replacing them on the wall and she loves that she can be this creative. I love watching her play and after several weeks of rather a lot of play with the stickers she has not yet torn one or removed any paint from my walls.

I really love the Wall play stickers. They are of a great quality and the girls enjoy playing with them. They are ready set up play that can be returned to again and again, allowing my girls to use their imagination and to be creative. Wall play stickers are great on an evening when the girls get home from nursery and want to play and I love listening to the stories they create with them.

My eldest is a huge Mr Tumble and Justin fan. I think it has to do not only with her love of signing but also that she finds him very funny. She would often sign things to me that we had not covered in our Sing and Sign classes but that she had seen on Something special. In shops if she saw Justin on a book or DVD she would point him out and say 'Justin', I know therefore how important he is to her.

When I came across the Cbeebies tour of Justin and Friends I had to buy a ticket for her, and as it was held close to Easter it made a .lovely Easter present. I was a little worried that at 2 and half she might not understand the show, or sit still long enough or even enjoy it. I need not have worried, I told her that morning we were going to Justin's house, she looked at me and asked 'Mr Tumble and Justin house' when I answered yes she would not sit still.

We arrived at the Arena and took our seats. My eldest was amazed as she looked at the stage and read the program

She was really mesmerised by the crowd and the lights and kept asking when Mr Tumble and Justin would be coming out. I had to tell her they were getting dressed and would be out soon. To keep her entertained her Auntie bought her a light

That helped take her mind of things and then the show started

She started pointing and going 'Oh Mummy look, Mummy look its robot, its Justin Robot' She was laughing so much and giggling and jumping up and down. I have never seen her so excited, not even at Christmas. She clapped and laughed and I was so happy to see how excited she was and that she understood the show. [Please accept my apologies for the bad photography, its hard to take a photo with no flash in a dark space and not let your daughter, who would not sit still, know about it]

The show was simply fantastic. There was plenty of action, and a very easy to follow story line. My daughter really loved the acrobats, and has since attempted some of the acrobat scenes with her younger sister. She loved it that the story took place both on and off stage which meant the whole arena felt part of the show. It was great to see little monster pop up right in front of her, she loved this.

The show was really interactive and my daughter loved the 'interactive screen', she has asked for a TV like Justin's, one she can swipe and shake. I loved that the show featured lots of songs that my daughter knew and had lots of good humour that made her laugh. I was so impressed that she not only sat throughout the whole show but enjoyed every second of it. She has asked over and over to go back to Justin's house.
